Ok so heres the deal, I could care less if anyone reads this, or if they agree with what I have to say- but I have to get this out. its KANYE ALL DAY! My motto is if you dont feel me- "f" u, and i believe that this applies with the Kanye Experience. Everybody wanna talk about being real, but when it slaps them in the face, morals and judgement comes in to play. When ye got up and said "George Bush dont like Black people," everybody was noddin' their heads, and giving this man praise. Yet, him voicing his 'opinion' about a mere genre stirs up yalls fancy.
Whether you agree or NOT, Kanye had all the right the voice his opinion. The context of it was the only thing that should have been considered- but then again its ye. Thats not his style. If you want to know my opinion, (which doesnt really matter) Beyonce WON that category, but they HAD to give the award to Taylor Swift (who by the way is a sweetheart- and didnt deserve the pain; but welcome to the business honey). I wouldnt know first hand, but in my opinion the industry is nothing but a business- and in that certain things must be done to provide leeway for future endeavors.

if yall want to be technical, Beyonce is a bad Beyotch! lol "straight up" (htown voice). She's leaving room for whoever got next, all while setting trends as she explores her creativity. How many vids were insprired by Single Ladies? The simplicity of it was the best part- because just like jigga she brought it back to its foundation which showed that perks can never out-do raw talent.

Kanye is officially- my man (jigga voice). Today he proved his loyalty, his spontaneity, and most of all his integrity, because he stood up for what he believed in regardless of the consequence.

Im always trying to put myself in the place of others, mainly to keep my sanity, while trying to understand the situation. The only thing I could think of during the VMAs was Ye. I never wanted to be in the limelight because I felt like I'd be surrounded by people who spent their time trying to maintain a certain image by misconstruing the reality of it. Ye' proved that its possible to keep it real, in a society full of fakes.

Everybody is talking about what shoulda been, and how things should have played out, but lets be honest, then we wouldnt have had anything to talk about. I LOVE KANYE OMARI WEST! lol in a non-obsessed way. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and I hope you consider all angles when making yours.

Taylor Swift, it was bigger than you. WE have never had full out love and respect from MTV (maybe we wont) but at least ye stepped up and said what majority of us were at home pissed about.

ok, so i probably shouldnt be writing this, but who cares: my opinion matters too. if RASHEETA E. wouldnt have started it, then maybe I could go without writing this post. As we all know BP-3 was released on Tuesday. ahh. I mean the haters were bound to show some skin sooner or later, but damn. After receiving my 2-disc copy, wrapped nicely might i add, the conversation began!

God, I have no clue where to even start. I sware it was like a jab to the heart. I understand the principles behind opinions, and in no way do I believe mine is always right- BUT if you dare to say something (that im sure you believe in) plllleeeeaase be able to back it up. And if you cant: fake the funk. _i do.

At this point I hadnt actually heard the album, but D.O.A, and Run this town had previously been released. My only question was, WHY?

Freestyling, though it is a product of improvisation, is still (if not even more) relevant because its still the artist's vibe. you still get connected to their style, and their mindframe, all while thinking damn they just came up with this issh. the only thing that differs is execution.

The convo went on and on, and i applaud her for staying strong in her opinion, but truthfully i dont believe you can judge someone like him strictly because he already put in work. To me, its all about respect.

if you actually listen to this map for hiphop that we call bp3, then you wouldnt dare say anything about him being bs. one of his verses talks about how niggas want him back to the way he was- he says how he already did that, go buy his old albums.

i tried, i promise i tried, to listen to the cd with a critical ear, but i couldnt argue with anything. you already know how the album will be before you listen. blueprint- a map. he already gave us the map(s) to his life, and where he was going. Now hes trying to help yall. Tryna change the game up. yall can take it or leave it. im runnin with it.

Speaking of Jay- I just purchased my pre-order copy of his new album: Blueprint 3; along with 1 & 2. Im soo excited.

Anyway man, its been a minute. I guess this blog is a reflection of how I want to live my life: on my own terms. Lol, it seems like it takes me forever to update it but once I do I am very satisfied w/ the way it comes out. School is back in session, and the end is coming to the light. Eventhough I have a while to go, I guess its time I start acting like thats the direction I'm heading towards. Everybody is always talking about moving on (forward). To me thats just maintainin'. I'd like to think of myself as elevating. Gotta keep gettin higher til I make it to the top. (take it how u want it). This year is my maker's mark. (my outlet) I hope I can live up to the expectations required of me.

Brooklyn, went hard (as usual). I have pix to prove it. This was a well needed trip because it gave my summer balance. I spent majority of it working/learning in a industry full of lies. Going "home" showed me my true purpose. Whatever I do, I have to own my craft. I refuse to work in any industry whose main focus is sales. The TV/News business spent so much time trying to spruce things up, and make the stories visually stimulating for the viewers that the content/reality of it faded. (i cant get jiggy w/ that shit). I could write a whole book on Brooklyn-well NYC, and how much I love that place but I wont take it to that level just yet. For now, Ill leave it at this.

I love Brooklyn, because:

everybody is on the same page out there. I mean its like no matter what level you are on professionally, you are still considered to be equal to the man standing next to you. NYC is a city derived off of hustlin'. Everybody got a hustle, no matter how big or small it might be. We met/saw countless "celebrities," either working, or maintaining their everyday lifestyle. Not to name names but: Jeffrey Wright (Muddy Waters, Cadillac Records), Kelis & baby, Dwayne Wade, Venus & Serena, Tila Tequila, argh Kid Cudi, some b-ball player, and we touched Jigga. lol met some Roc-a-Fella peeps. Now I mean, yeah thats cool & it was kind of surreal but the part that was amazing to me was how their peers treated them. There was a sense of respect between everyone. There is no way this could happen in Houston.

I mean chicks & DUDES, are trippin off of the sight of Drake, who is yet to release a LP. Dont get me wrong, I rock w/ him, but lets be realistic. He's up and coming just like the rest of us. I think the best way to show appreciation is through respect, and not by worshiping these people as if they are God. Now back to Bk.

Times are tough, man. Everyone is affected. I love the idea of collaboration, and to me it seems like the motto for NY. Everyone works together to make the product better. Females act like lady's. You probably dont get that so let me rephrase. These women carry themselves like women, all while staying true to the characteristics of their personalities. I mean no matter where I went, there was a mutual respect amongst women. No hating, no dirty looks, nothing compared to Houston. If a woman felt like you did the damn thing w/ an outfit you put together, she'd tell you. We met countless females, who "took us in" in a way and led us on the right path in NY. Ladies out here would never do that. You cant walk into a room in Houston, without being subject of these girls demise. Its 2009, I have nothing to compete with you about. Its time to give it up.

Sometimes, I wish people could see what I see. But then I realize that everybody has their own outlook on the world. Though, I never give up, i sometimes slow myself down because I dont feel like Im on the same page as everybody else. What can I say, I got some ishh to work on. Id rather die enormous than live dormid*.
